Not many of today's blues artists can accurately be described as "legendary," but the title is fitting for Louisiana Red. The 1983 W.C. Handy Award winner as Traditional Male Artist of the Year has been an active member on the blues scene for over half a century and boasts an impressive 22-release discography including the newest addition by the guitarist, "A Different Shade Of Red..." originally released in May of 2002. Red is joined by former members of The Band, Levon Helm and Garth Hudson. This CD is a mix of electric and acoustic blues featuring 10 originals that capture Red at the height of his craft.
